Funny- as I was re-reading this chapter before posting yesterday, I kept shaking my head thinking I was being too simplistic with Jack's post-avalanche retrieval of his senses. I know so much from SAR that it's hard to pull out just the major details that will make it resonate with a reader- without making it an overkill of SAR details. It sounds like I did okay!

If a slope lets go above you, remember you'll hear a thunderous boom first! It's the craziest thing, you'll ever hear! If you get caught in it, swim, swim, swim upward and keep your hands in front of your face!
